My love of photography began at an early age with an Instamatic Kodak camera. From the Instamatic I upgraded to a 35mm SLR film camera, and currently use a mirrorless digital camera. Capturing the world around me through the lens of a camera allowed me to express myself more easily than with words. The experience in my late teens of documenting a cross country road trip with my camera inspired me to earn a degree in photojournalism from Boston University. Over the years, I have worked as a reporter and photographer for a semi-weekly newspaper and photographed weddings and family portraits. During Covid, I created a studio in my home and withdrew from the outside world into the world of macro photography. By turning the chaos of the world around me into peaceful abstracts, I hope to create images the viewer can “Zen out” to.

I have been published in the El Defensor Chieftain, the Socorro Chamber of Commerce and the Half Moon Bay Review. I have won awards at the Pacifica Fog Fest and the Peninsula Photo Contest. My work has been shown at New Mexico Tech, the Sanchez Art Gallery, Filoli Historic House and the Palo Alto Art Center.
